Swinderby School Smashes 5K Challenge
Pupils and staff at Swinderby School came together for the Walk for Autism 5K recently. Many pupils completed the route in their pyjamas, which added a colourful and cheerful twist to the event.
The celebrations continued into the afternoon with a bake sale led by Yasmin Davenhill and Falcons class in the library, where pupils and staff alike enjoyed a selection of treats. The table featured generous contributions from the chefs at RAF Wittering, alongside bakes provided by Yasmin.
Reflecting on the event, organiser Vicki Hill said: “It was such a brilliant day, and I’m absolutely thrilled with the effort and enthusiasm shown by everyone. Seeing so many people take part in the walk – especially dressed in their pyjamas – made the event even more special and brought a real sense of fun and community spirit to the day, including promoting health and wellbeing to our pupils. And I’m delighted to share that together we raised £64 for the National Autistic Society.”
