Keyll House

Keyll House

Located in Tadworth, just four miles from Epsom town centre, Keyll House provides care and support to adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs, including behaviours of concern.

Welcome

Keyll House, meaning “house in woodland”, owing to the beautiful woodlands and countryside around the Surrey area, is situated at the end of a small private lane off of ‘The Avenue’ and backs directly onto the heath, and is consequently set in beautiful surroundings. Tadworth village centre is only a five-minute walk away, with the train station and other easily accessible public transport close by.

The house benefits from being surrounded by wonderful countryside, parks and rivers, with wooded areas and various green open spaces easy to access. The seaside town of Brighton is just 42 miles away.

Our approach

Kisimul Group are dedicated to providing happy and settled homes for individuals in a comfortable and safe environment that promotes dignity, respect, independence, privacy, fulfilment and choice.

Kisimul Group’s key aim is to deliver Positive Behaviour Support by way of understanding behaviours that concern or challenge families, staff and services. This is achieved by understanding the message that a behaviour presents, enabling us in the recognised adjustment of the environment, our responses to the behaviour and by teaching new skills to give people better ways to access the things they need.

Positive Behaviour Support drives our culture and ethos, supporting people proactively to meet their needs and promoting individual person centred care. We believe that each person has the right to achieve and we look to provide the people we support with a platform to engage in meaningful activities and lifestyle choices to enhance their quality of life and wellbeing.

Independence

Our individuals are given opportunities to continue to learn and develop new skills by way of an embedded approach that encourages them to be as independent as possible, nurturing a sense of ownership and belonging in their own home. Each person has a bespoke timetable of activities that is meaningful to them and which is created with their involvement in order to suit their own needs and preferences.

Daily life

There are lots of facilities accessible to our young people locally, such as cinemas, theatre groups and libraries along with various sports and leisure centres. There are many clubs available to join, enabling us to be welcomed into the local and wider community. The location of the house offers us lots of opportunities to socialise together with other homes in the vicinity.

Accommodation

Keyll House is a beautiful, Georgian-style, nine-bedded home, with all bedrooms including en suite facilities. The house benefits from an exceptional amount of communal space, including five communal lounges to relax in and a very large kitchen/dining area, the latter being an ideal space for people to get involved and develop their independence skills around preparing and cooking their meals or snacks. The house opens at the rear into a substantial garden with various areas for quietness and relaxation.

Staff & Therapeutic Services

All staff coming into the home are trained to an extremely high standard, receiving regular sessions that specialise in our individuals’ specific needs and requirements of support. This enables us to deliver a high-quality, effective level of care that ensures that the outcomes experienced by the people we care for are exceptional.

The people we support at Keyll House have access to a variety of different Therapeutic Services such as aromatherapy, speech and language therapy, music therapy and occupational therapy. See more information on our Therapeutic Services here.
