Welcome
Tigh Allene, meaning “beautiful house,” is a short drive from the historical city of Lincoln and 21 miles from Newark. It benefits from easy access to the A1 and A46, and is only 12 miles from the main Kisimul School site at Swinderby and 15 miles from Acacia Hall at Friesthorpe. Lincoln is a small and vibrant city offering everything you would expect and more.
Our approach
Kisimul Group are dedicated to providing a happy and settled home environment for our individuals in a comfortable atmosphere that promotes dignity and respect, independence, privacy, fulfilment and choice.
We are thoroughly committed to supporting people to progress and integrate within the wider community. Community presence is very important to us here at Tigh Allene and we utilise all amenities available to us as part of everyday life and the running of the home, which ensures our individuals are an integral part of the local community and all it has to offer. We believe every individual has the right to live life to the full and we encourage each person through support and encouragement to do so.
Independence
The people we support are given opportunities to continue to learn and develop new skills as well as develop their independence skills using ASDAN. We promote and encourage each person to be as independent as possible giving them a sense of ownership and belonging within a homely, safe environment.
Daily life
Individuals have access to a variety of activities on a daily basis which they can choose to participate in, including organised trips out, aromatherapy and music therapy.
Within the village of Washingborough there are many amenities, including a small supermarket, pub, restaurant, library, health centre and numerous clubs and societies on offer. The village benefits from its own bowling alley and golfing centre and endless footpaths and tracks alongside the River Witham.
Accommodation
The house comprises of three upstairs and two downstairs bedrooms all with en suite facilities. On the ground floor there is a lounge with a large kitchen and dining area as well as a conservatory giving plenty of space to enjoy in-house activities, develop independence and opportunities to share space as well as enjoy quiet time if preferred.
Tigh Allene has large surrounding and well-maintained gardens, with individualised areas for quiet time as well as lawns to the front and back giving the feeling of open space and areas to enjoy outdoor activities.
Staff & Therapeutic Services
The individuals who live here are supported by trained and dedicated staff. Their care is tailored and specific to their needs with an emphasis on learning new skills and developing within their lives.
The people we support at Tigh Allene have access to a variety of different Therapeutic Services such as aromatherapy, speech and language therapy, music therapy and occupational therapy. See more information on our Therapeutic Services here.
