Meet the New Service Manager at Bramley Apartments: Bolanle Tofowomo

As Bramley Apartments prepares to welcome its first tenants, we’re introducing Bolanle Tofowomo, who will lead the service and support tenants to build independence, develop life skills and make their apartments their own.

A passion for supporting people to grow

Bolanle began her career in 2019, working in domiciliary and live-in care before moving into support work and supported living. She has since progressed through senior and management roles, gaining experience in helping people develop confidence and independence in their everyday lives.

One of the things Bolanle values most about her work is seeing how people develop over time.

“It’s about seeing people grow, even if it’s just the little things,” she explains. “Seeing how they’ve settled and how things have changed for them over time is really rewarding.”

Building independence at Bramley Apartments

Bramley Apartments will offer four self-contained apartments for adults aged 18 and over who are autistic, have a learning disability and may have associated complex needs. Each tenant will have their own front door and private living space, alongside personalised support shaped around their individual needs, interests and aspirations.

For Bolanle, having a space of your own can make a real difference to the choices people can make and how they live their lives.

“Everyone is different, so it’s about understanding what each person wants to achieve and supporting them in a way that works for them.”

That might mean developing everyday skills, such as making a cup of tea, building confidence to go for a walk or exploring activities in the local community. Progress will look different for everyone, with support tailored to each person’s starting point and goals.

Bolanle and the team will work with tenants, their families and relevant professionals during the transition process, helping them understand each person’s needs and put the right support in place.

Creating a place to call home

As a new service, Bramley Apartments gives Bolanle the opportunity to build a positive team culture from the outset, with staff involved in the transition process and the development of personalised care plans.

Looking ahead, Bolanle hopes Bramley Apartments will continue to develop around the people who live there, making adjustments where needed to help tenants feel comfortable, settled and supported.

“What’s important to me is that people feel settled,” she says. “Once someone feels settled, they can start thinking about their goals and what they want to achieve.”

For Bolanle, success is about more than the support someone receives. It’s about helping them feel that they belong.

Her hope is that tenants will feel settled at Bramley and be proud to say, “This is my home.”

As the service prepares to open, Bolanle is looking forward to welcoming its first tenant and beginning that journey together.
