People We Support Enjoy an Underwater Adventure

People we support and staff from Richmond Court in Shropshire recently enjoyed a memorable day out at the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham.

The trip was chosen by Kiran, who invited Ben to join him. Alongside staff members Carl and Matt, they spent the day exploring the exhibits and learning more about marine life.

One of the highlights for Kiran was the walk-through ocean tunnel, where sharks and sea turtles swam overhead. Ben particularly enjoyed seeing the penguins, which quickly became his favourite part of the visit.

The outing was a great example of promoting choice and independence. It was organised and funded by those attending, showing confidence in managing their own finances. They also travelled using their own vehicle, further supporting independent travel skills.

Following the success of the day, plans are already underway for their next adventure – a visit to Twycross Zoo.

Richmond Court is a supported living home for adults aged 18 and over, offering a wide and varied range of activities for everyone to enjoy and take part in.
