Love was in the air this Valentine’s Day

This month residents and learners celebrated Valentine’s Day by taking part in lots of fun activities. Suillean House residents decorated their dining table with heart shaped placemats, coasters and red napkins. As the residents dined on their delicious steak dinner, they enjoyed listening to some love songs. The Suillean House team also displayed ‘What is Valentine’s Day’ and ‘What is love?’ easy read posters on the residents’ information board.

Epsom and Croydon residents took part in love themed art therapy sessions. Residents were busy decorating love hearts with lots of sparkly sequins, stickers and glitter for their families,  friends or to decorate their homes.

Andrea who led the sessions said, “I used the sessions  as an opportunity to talk about love. Residents shared who they loved, including pets, parents and friends.  The art therapy sessions were a positive catalyst for talking about what love means.
