Relatives Give Kisimul Vote of Confidence in Survey

We undertook a recent relatives survey which revealed 100% of respondents would recommend to others the support our children’s homes provide to their relative.

The survey was undertaken in the latter part of 2025 and targeted relatives of people in all of our adult and children’s homes.

One relative commented, “Kisimul is a lovely care group, they look after their staff and residents and families. My son has been with Kisimul since 2014, we are very happy with them.”

153 relatives responded to the annual survey, which included the following headline results:

Children’s Services

• 100% said they were confident in the transition planning in place for when their relative moves in/out of their home (82% in 2024).
• 100% said their relative was respected when making lifestyle choices (100% in 2024).

Adult Services

• 100% said they were confident to complain if they were not happy with the support provided to their relative (97% in 2024).
• 99% said they felt staff were helpful, kind and courteous when they see them in person or talk to them on the telephone (97% in 2024).

Nicky Cooper, Director of Operational and Practice Performance, said, “We are delighted with the results which back up the work we have been doing over the past few years to ensure all the people we support experience truly meaningful lives. Our ultimate priority is, of course, the care and wellbeing of the children and adults in our care, and a big part of this is making sure relatives are true partners in the support of their loved ones.

I would like to thank all of our colleagues and teams for their excellent work over the past year which is borne out through the results and, whilst we are very happy with them, we know there is always room to improve when it comes to people’s quality of life.”

Another relative added, “I am very pleased with the care the home provides to my daughter. I can see positive changes in her behaviour and development every time I go to visit her. Staff do an amazing job.”
