Successful Autism and ADHD Show Featuring Expert Talk on Meaningful Life Model and One Plan

Once again, this year we proudly exhibited at a highly successful Autism and ADHD Show, drawing attendees from across the community to celebrate neurodiversity, share resources, and foster greater understanding of autism. The event featured an engaging programme of talks and resource booths, all sparking meaningful conversation on creating inclusive spaces for autistic individuals.

Held in London and Birmingham, the shows brought together families, professionals, and advocates in a supportive environment. A highlight of the event was a talk by Angela Wood, Head of Therapeutic Lived Experience, and Gareth Hall, Service Development Manager, who spoke on the topic: One Plan – supporting meaningful outcomes through therapeutically-informed approaches.

In their talk, Angela and Gareth emphasised the importance of our Meaningful Life Model, and how the One Plan has transformed lives through a therapeutically-informed approach. Ange and Gareth said that “presenting at the show provided a great opportunity to share the impact of our Meaningful Life Model, leading to further opportunities for collaboration with other professionals and organisations”. The talk celebrated some of the amazing outcomes, stories and experiences of the young people we support. Their journeys were captured through photos and footage illustrating the parents’ perspective and young people actively growing in their independence. There was even an appearance from Curtis, one of the young people we support, who was very excited to come up on the stage, proudly celebrating his achievements!

Visitors also had the opportunity to explore sensory-friendly zones, browse informational booths from local autism support organisations, and engage with interactive exhibits designed to promote understanding of sensory processing differences.

This event was about more than awareness, it’s about developing an understanding for neurodivergent people, allowing them a safe space to share their experiences and explore support. We’re honoured to exhibit at these shows every year and excited by the momentum this creates for continued advocacy and community involvement.

The Autism and ADHD Show is part of an ongoing commitment to neurodiversity, equality, and inclusion.
