Set in an ideal location, Old Elms is our new Supported Living service, opening in Summer 2021. The newly-modernised and refurbished property is where we provide outstanding support to six people with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs, including behaviours of concern.
We are proud that everyone at the service has the opportunity to learn and develop new skills through an embedded approach which moves them towards greater independence. It’s a place where individuals are encouraged – with the help of a model of personal care and support – to develop a sense of ownership in their own house.
Activities within the service are tailored and bespoke, ensuring they are meaningful to everyone on an individual level, and are developed collaboratively with every person to align to their specific needs.
Based in Gamston, in the peaceful countryside between Nottingham and Lincoln and not far from the market town of Retford, the service is close to all local facilities, and easily accessible to major transport links, including the A1.
Alex Collins, manager at Old Elms, said: “We have a great outdoor space, which goes hand in hand with the social and communal living that we provide. The atmosphere is one of safety and care, in an environment where people can take control of their lives and enjoy their surroundings.”
