Tigh Fruin

igh Fruin, meaning "house on steep hill", is in the small village of Hayton, which is 3.5 miles from the market town of Retford. The house is a newly renovated home that provides safe, secure, excellent quality residential care for ten young adults that may have severe to moderate learning disabilities, autism and/or challenging behaviour. The small town of Retford features fine Georgian buildings, a spacious square and two theatres. The town played a remarkable part in the story of the Pilgrim Fathers, who fled to America in 1620 after being persecuted for their religious beliefs. Markets are held regularly in the town including antique and bric-a-brac on specific days.

Hayton itself is a small village with a play park opposite the home, and has a village hall that has various groups running for people to get involved in the community. The village is located 26 miles from the city of Lincoln and 35 miles from Nottingham. Hayton has the benefit of a regular bus service into the town of Retford and nearby Gainsborough, so has lots of local amenities within easy reach that are easily accessible by means of public transport. There are also lots of local activities to enjoy getting out and about. The village is close to Clumber Park, Sundown Adventure Land and Thoresby Hall.

The home itself is set in approximately 3 acres of land alongside another of our registered services and is a three-storey modern property. The property consists of six bedrooms with 2 communal lounges, a kitchen and a large dining room. It has four bedrooms on the first floor and two on the third floor, all with en-suite facilities. The grounds are substantial with well-maintained gardens and a courtyard area at the front of the property.

Kisimul Group are dedicated to providing a happy and settled home environment for our residents in a comfortable atmosphere that promotes dignity & respect, independence, privacy, fulfilment and choice. We are thoroughly committed to supporting our residents to progress and integrate within the wider community. Community presence is very important to us here at Tigh Fruin and we utilise all amenities available to us as part of everyday life and the running of the home, which ensures our residents are an integral part of the local community and all it has to offer. We believe every individual has the right to live life to the full and we encourage our residents through support and encouragement to do so. Our residents are given opportunities to continue to learn and develop new skills as well as develop their independence skills using ASDAN and through attending suitable college courses. We promote and encourage our residents to be as independent as possible, giving them a sense of ownership and belonging within a homely, safe environment.
