Tigh Bruadair

Tigh Bruadair is located on Summer Hill in Gainsborough, a small town on the River Trent within the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, which benefits from a newly built shopping centre and leisure centre being close by. Gainsborough has all the expected amenities such as a doctor’s surgery, dentist opticians along with a theatre and plenty of places to eat out and enjoy. Situated in a tranquil and peaceful environment, Tigh Bruadair provides a home for young adults living independently under supervision in a shared house.

Tigh Bruadair has ten bedrooms all with en suite facilities. Four of the bedrooms are on the ground floor and six of them on the first floor. All bedrooms are decorated and furnished according to individual tastes and desires promoting individuality, personal space and a sense of identity. The shared living space within the home consists of a large lounge with adjacent conservatory where residents can choose to take part in various in house activities, a breakfast room and dining room where they can choose to eat or relax and we have a large kitchen for meal preparation and cooking activities along with laundry facilities that our residents are encouraged to use in promoting their everyday independence. The home benefits from large mature gardens and an extensive lawn area with plenty of space to enjoy summer barbecues and a separate area for growing our own vegetables.

Staffing at Tigh Bruadair is of an extremely high standard. All staff receive regular training that specialises in our resident’s needs and requirements and are trained to NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care. All staff have a six week induction with the help of a mentor to help ensure the standard of care we provide is consistent throughout. The high staffing level at Tigh Bruadair enables our residents to partake in many every day activities such as trips to the cinema, bowling and getting involved in the running of the home. A seven day annual holiday is organised with the input of the residents.

At Tigh Bruadair we are passionate about our residents living as fulfilled a life as possible. Our residents have access to a variety of activities on a daily basis which they can choose to participate in, including organised trips out, aromatherapy and speech therapy, ASDAN, horticulture and animal husbandry. We promote and encourage our residents to be as independent as possible giving them a sense of ownership and belonging within a homely, safe environment. Community presence is also very important to us here at Tigh Bruadair and utilise all amenities available to us as part of everyday life and the running of the home, which ensures our residents are an integral part of the local community and all it has to offer.
