Tigh Allene

Tigh Allene, meaning “Beautiful House” is located in the tranquil village of Washingborough. The house is a beautiful newly renovated home that provides safe, secure, excellent quality residential care for five young adults that may have severe to moderate learning disabilities, Autism and/or challenging behaviour.

The house comprises of three upstairs and two downstairs bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. On the ground floor there is a substantial size lounge with a large kitchen and dining area as well as a conservatory giving plenty of space to enjoy in-house activities, developing of independence and opportunities to share space as well as enjoy quiet time if preferred. Tigh Allene has large surrounding and well maintained gardens, with individualised areas for quiet time as well as lawns to the front and back giving the feeling of open space and areas to enjoy outdoor activities.

Within the village of Washingborough there are many amenities, including a small supermarket, pub, restaurant, library, health centre and numerous clubs and societies on offer. The village benefits from its own bowling alley and golfing centre and endless footpaths and tracks alongside the River Witham. The house is a short drive from the historical City of Lincoln and 21 miles from Newark Town. It benefits from easy access to the A1 and A46, and is only 12 miles from the main Kisimul School site at Swinderby and 15 miles from Acacia Hall at Friesthorpe. Lincoln itself is a small and vibrant city offering everything you would expect and more.

Our residents are given opportunities to continue to learn and develop new skills as well as develop their independence skills using ASDAN and through attending suitable college courses. Our residents have access to a variety of activities on a daily basis which they can choose to participate in, including organised trips out, aromatherapy and speech therapy, horticulture and animal husbandry. We promote and encourage our residents to be as independent as possible giving them a sense of ownership and belonging within a homely, safe environment.
