SUILLEAN HOUSE is located in the village of Heckington, which is approximately 6 miles from the small town of Sleaford in Lincolnshire. The village boasts many amenities all of which are regularly accessed by all of our residents. The village has a post office and shop along with two pubs, Drs Surgery, a bank and its own train station. Heckington Show is a huge annual event and the village boasts the only eight sail fully working windmill in the country.
The house itself has nine bedrooms all with en suite facilities, three of the bedrooms are on the ground floor. All of the bedrooms are personalised and decorated according to the individualís tastes and desires, promoting individuality and recognised personal space.
The shared facilities at Suillean House consist of two large lounges where residents can choose to relax or take part in various in-house activities, dining room, kitchen and laundry facilities. There is a large garden for outdoor activities and leisure time with plenty of space to enjoy.
At Suillean House we are passionate about promoting our residents to become as fulfilled and independent as possible being encouraged in every aspect to reach their full potential, giving them a sense of ownership and belonging in a homely, safe environment.
Community presence is very important to us and we utilise all amenities available to us enabling our residents to become and feel an important part of the local community.
Staffing at Suillean House is of an extremely high standard. All staff receive regular training that specialises in our residentís needs and requirements. The high staffing levels enable our residents to partake in many activities including organised trips and annual holidays.
Our residents are given opportunities to continue to learn and develop new skills using the ASDAN towards independence programme and through utilising activity rotas that are devised with the individual's interests in mind.
Residents' independence is at the forefront of our minds and this shows in how staff support the residents to run the home. Activities such as food shopping, choosing of decor and furniture, upkeep of the home, cooking of meals, planning of activities and outings amongst many others promote and encourage this.
At Suillean House we believe that each resident is treated as an individual, and any plans of care should be tailored to suit their own needs and wishes. Experience has taught us that promoting individual needs allows the residents to flourish and make their own decisions on how they wish to live their life.
As our mission statement suggests we continuously strive for excellence in the care of our residents and our vision is to have the best assisted living environment available.
