THE OLD VICARAGE is the Kisimul Group's Lower School for children with autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. All of our pupils have Statements of special educational need, and some form of global developmental delay.
Our boarding school is set in 4 acres of grounds within the small Lincolnshire village of Swinderby. The school building itself is new and equipped to the highest standard. Our younger pupils, aged between 8 and 16 years, live in family groups in three comfortable houses: "The Old Vicarage", a beautiful Georgian rectory, and in Aislinn House, and Aaron House - modern, purpose-built houses adjacent to the school site.
"Teaching is lively and students experience fun and enjoyment in learning, which is a positive motivation to make progress. The high quality of educational provision and support for students leads to them making outstanding progress, which is also reflected in student\'s annual reports and in the very positive comments about progress made by their parents and local authorities."
Ofsted May 2009At 16 years old our pupils transfer to Acacia Hall School, in Friesthorpe, Lincolnshire, which is the Kisimul Group's Upper School, where their care and education continues until they reach 19 years. attend the recently developed upper school at Acacia Hall, a large Edwardian Rectory set in 7 acres of grounds close to the Lincolnshire town of Market Rasen.

The school offers full residential education and leisure programmes for up to 52 weeks of the year and, as with the two other Kisimul Schools, is registered with both the Department for Children, Schools and Families, (DCSF) and Ofsted. All our schools can provide care and education for any number of weeks from 38 through to 52 weeks and are also able to offer a limited number of day placements. Our overall Ofsted ranking is "outstanding".

Within the Old Vicarage site we have an indoor, heated swimming pool, a large play area and extensive play facilities, there is also a soft play area, ball pool and multi-sensory room for relaxation and stimulation are located within the residential building. During 2008 the site will be further upgraded with the development of a gymnasium adjacent to the new school building. The gymnasium will link into the indoor swimming pool and provide an upgrade to the changing facilities.
