Summer Fayre

This year’s Summer Fayre has had a dramatic revamp and promises to be big and better than ever before. It falls on July 4th – American Independence Day and, therefore, has a strong American/Wild West flavour. Some of the old favourite games and stalls remain but you can look forward to a host of new American/Wild West themed attractions including ‘surf simulator’, ‘archery’, ‘saloon bar shootout’, ‘Wild West Horse racing’ ‘Wild West bouncy castle’, ‘cactus hoopla’ and plenty of entertainment. Refreshments will be available in the form of ‘I-cycles’ traditional ice-cream, muffins, BBQ and popcorn, candy floss and cakes. In particular, the raffle will be given a big push this year as “The Friends of Kisimul School” attempt to purchase a Motor Home for all the pupils at Kisimul School and the young people in our Adult Units to enjoy. Some of Kisimul School’s staff will be in fancy address – feel free to join in! See you there!

You shall go to the ball!

After the recent successes of Jack and the Beanstalk, Snow White and the Eight Dwarfs and Puss in Boots the students at Acacia Hall are starting to practise for this year's production. This year we have decided to perform the classic story of Cinderella.

However, to make it more accessible to our students, the staff have rewritten it as a musical with an emphasis on modern songs and the visual aspects of the story. All students will be included in the cast, and despite it requiring loads of hard work, it is regarded as one of the highlights of the school calendar (oh yes it is).

As in previous years, we will perform this at the local Broadbent Theatre at Wickenby in December. Pupils and staff from the lower school are invited to attend as part of their Christmas preparations. As with all traditional pantomimes it will be alright on the night, Cinderella will marry her Prince Charming and we'll all live happily ever after.
