Blythe House

lythe House is situated in the village of Faldingworth, a small village that is close to both the market town of Market Rasen and the city of Lincoln. Market Rasen has all the expected amenities from a small town available to our residents such as a GP surgery and pharmacy and local shops as well as a weekly market. The city of Lincoln has everything to offer including the necessary dentists and opticians as well as places to enjoy eating out and socialising, a local cinema, theatre and lots more. The village of Faldingworth is also in very close proximity to Acacia Hall, our Upper School, which offers our residents the opportunity to easily access facilities available there, such as Animal Husbandry and the coffee shop. The village itself has a close knit community with the village hall providing lots of access to different groups and activities promoting community inclusion. Situated in a calm and peaceful environment Blythe House provides a safe and happy home whilst promoting our residents’ independence with supervision in a shared house.

Blythe House consists of ten bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. All bedrooms are decorated and furnished according to the individual’s tastes and desires promoting individuality, personal space and a sense of identity. The shared living space within the home consists of two large lounges; one with an adjacent dining room where residents can choose to take part in various in house activities. We also have a large kitchen for meal preparation and cooking activities along with laundry facilities that our residents are encouraged to use in promoting their everyday independence. The home benefits from large mature gardens and an extensive lawn area with plenty of space to enjoy sum-mer barbecues. There is also a substantial area for growing vegetables and a small orchard that provides an enjoyable and quiet seating area for anyone wishing to relax and enjoy being outdoors.

Staffing levels at Blythe House are of an extremely high standard. All staff receive regular training that specialises in our residents’ needs and requirements; all are trained to the recognised Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care. All staff participate in a six week induction with the help of a mentor to help ensure the standard of care we provide is consistent throughout. The high staffing level at Blythe House enables our residents to partake in many every day activities such as trips to the cinema, bowling and getting involved in the running of the home. A seven day annual holiday is organised with the input of the residents.

At Blythe House we are passionate about our residents living as fulfilled a life as possible. Our residents have access to a variety of activities on a daily basis which they can choose to participate in, including organised trips out, aromatherapy and speech therapy, ASDAN, horticulture and animal husbandry. We promote and encourage our residents to be as independent as possible giving them a sense of ownership and belonging within a homely and safe environment. Community presence is also very important to us here at Blythe House and we utilise all amenities available to us as part of everyday life and the running of the home. This ensures that our residents are an integral part of the local community and all it has to offer.
