Expert residential care

AN DARACH HOUSE is a beautiful, spacious home that provides safe and excellent quality residential care for 6 young adults with severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. Located in the tranquil village of North Scarle, it is a large six bedroom house with ample personal space for our residents. On the first floor the bedrooms are personalised to their owners' tastes and desires. All residents have their own bath/shower room, most of which are en-suite. On the ground floor there is one additional bedroom with ensuite facilities, a large general living area for relaxing in and enjoying in-house activities. There are also a large living room, dining room, kitchen/breakfast room and office. An Darach House has a large garden with extensive lawns and a patio area which can be used all year round.

We are dedicated to providing a fun-filled, home-like environment for our residents in a comfortable atmosphere that promotes dignity, independence, privacy, fulfilment and choice. We are thoroughly committed to supporting our residents to progress and integrate within the wider community and develop their independence skills

Assuring quality

Staffing at An Darach House is of an extremely high standard. All staff receive regular, specialist training that focuses on our residents' very special needs and requirements. The high staffing levels allow residents to join in many activities including organised trips and annual holidays.

Our home has been awarded a 4 star rating from CSCI, which is the highest rating available.

Continuing education into adulthood

Our residents are given opportunities to continue to learn and develop new skills. They follow the ASDAN towards independence programme and attend suitable local college courses.

Personal independence is at the forefront of our minds and we demonstrate this by gently supporting our residents to participate in the complete running of their home. Everyone at An Darach House has the opportunity to shop for food, choose their own decor and furniture, join in with the housekeeping, cook meals, and help plan our many activities and outings.

The village of North Scarle has many amenities, including a post office/shop, pub and village community centre.

How to find us

From Newark take the A1133 to Collingham, through Besthorpe village to the Lord Nelson pub. Immediately after the pub take the first right which will be sign posted for North Scarle. After approximately 1 1/2 miles, immediately after the hump back bridge, turn right into School Lane.
