AN CALADH HOUSE is located in the tranquil village of Washingborough. The house is a beautifully spacious home that provides safe and excellent quality of residential care, initially for 10 young adults with severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.

On the first floor, each bedroom is personalised to the residents' tastes and desires, all with their own en-suite facilities. On the ground floor there are huge areas for living, relaxing and enjoying in-house activities with two large living areas, dining room, kitchen and breakfast room and laundry facilities.

An Caladh is situated on a large plot of land and has extensive lawns and a large raised decking area to the rear, which our residents take advantage of all year round.

Within the village of Washingborough there are many amenities, including a small supermarket, pub, restaurant, library, health centre and numerous clubs and societies on offer. The village benefits from its own bowling alley and golfing centre and endless footpaths and tracks alongside the River Witham for which to take a ramble.

We are dedicated to providing a fun filled, home like environment for our residents in a comfortable atmosphere that promotes dignity, independence, privacy, fulfilment and choice. We are thoroughly committed to supporting our residents to progress and integrate within the wider community and developing their independence skills.

Staffing at An Caladh House is of an extremely high standard. All staff receive regular training that specialises in our residents needs and requirements. The high staffing levels enable our residents to partake in many activities including organised trips and annual holidays.

Our homes have been awarded with a 4 star rating from CSCI, which is the highest rating available.

Continuing education into adulthood

Our residents are given opportunities to continue to learn and develop new skills using ASDAN towards independence programme and attending suitable college courses.

Residents' independence is at the forefront of our minds and this shows in how staff assist the residents in the complete running of the home, food shopping, choosing of decor and furniture, upkeep of the home, cooking of meals, planning of activities and outings amongst many others.

At An Caladh we believe that each resident is treated as an individual, and any plans of care should be tailored to suit their own needs and wishes. Experience has taught us that promoting individual needs allows the residents to flourish and make their own decisions on how they wish to live their life.

An Caladh House in Washingborough is a short drive from the historical City of Lincoln and 21 miles from Newark Town. It benefits from easy access to the A1 and A46, and is only 12 miles from the main Kisimul School site at Swinderby and 15 miles from Acacia Hall at Friesthorpe.
